I consider Palak or spinach as a super food. It is low in fat and cholesterol. It is high in niacin and zinc, as well as protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, E and K, thiamin, vitamin B6, folate, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and manganese. No wonder it gives Popeye the super powers to protect Olive from Brutus.
Craving for a healthy but yummy dish I checked for a reasonably priced Palak Paneer that will deliver in 45 minutes or less at Medeor Hospital. I checked Blue Ginger out and ordered Palak Paneer, Dal Tadka, Garlic Naan and Chappathi.
The delivery arrived on time, I can smell the aroma of the Garlic Naan when I opened the door. All were steaming hot, but the Dal Tadka and Palak Paneer were leaking. Lid was placed tightly, but the packaging itself is not leak proof. A plastic wrap could have avoided the leakage.
When I opened the Palak Paneer, the paneer was less than expected. The taste was awesome though, it compensated the few paneer served with it. Lots of flavors from different spices used are circling all over my mouth. I bet even Olive will eat spinach and she doesn’t have to wait for Popeye to save her.
The Dal Tadka was too oily. I realized I should have put on the delivery remarks to make everything less oily. If it has less oil, it could have been perfect. I like the balance of the saltiness and spiciness. Some may find it spicy, but for me taste is just right.
The Garlic Naan and Chappathi were both warm and freshly cooked. The Garlic Naan was garlicky. Taste wise, I prefer it over the Chappathi, but what I like about the Chappathi was the texture. It was still soft even when it’s cold unlike the Naan that was only soft when it was hot and it became gummy when it’s cold.
Galric Naan AED 3.67
Chappathi AED 2.10
Palak Paneer AED 16.80
Dal Tadka AED 13.65
I am rating Blue Ginger 3.5/5
