Shopping at Deira City Center made me hungry. We cannot decide which restaurant in the second floor to choose so my friend and I based it on which restaurant has the most customers and we have not gone to. Chili’s won.
We were both starving. She likes shrimp, I like steak. I ordered the house salad for our starter and she ordered the Mix & Match Shrimp and Steak Fajita plus Mushroom Jack Fajitas which we will both share.
We thought that salad will just be a normal salad, but it was surprisingly amazing. They used normal salad vegetables like tomato, cucumber, red onion, and lettuce. What made it special is the ranch dressing, cheese and the tortilla chips… which made the taste and texture unique (and slightly unhealthy) that’s why I liked it.
In the menu, they have instruction how to make and eat the Fajita. My friend was eating it wrong so I told her to eat it like this.
The Shrimp and Steak Fajita was loaded with cheese and onions. My friend was looking for the steak and she could only find a few. When I started eating, we realized that one side of the plate is shrimp and the other side is steak. She ate most of the shrimp as we thought that the whole plate was just shrimp with few steaks in between.
Shrimp Fajita was juicy and fresh. It is marinated mildly which I like, because I can still taste the sweetness from the fresh shrimp with a smoky taste. The steak was well marinated that made it a little salty for me. To compensate, I added fresh guacamole. The vegetables were well cooked. Caramelized onions and bell peppers were browned on the sides and drizzled with Chili’s special sauce. We wrapped all of these goodies in a fresh warm soft tortilla. The serving was more than enough for two hungry people. We asked for another serving of tortilla as we still have more steaks and vegetables which they served really fast.
