I found this deal from Cobone which was AED 79.00 for an international dinner buffet with unlimited soft beverage valid on Thursdays. Among all the Thursday dinner deals, this is the most enticing deal so I bought 2 vouchers for me and my friend.
It’s not difficult to find since it is at Dubai Marriot Harbour Hotel. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM but they let us enter even if we were 30 minutes early. They even accommodated when we ordered tea. When we arrived, the food was ready. Here is the list of the food served on that day.
They have plenty of options for starters- Caesar Dressing, Strawberry Pecan Salad, Tomato Mozzarella Caprese, Italian House Salad Salads, Beef Salami, Turkey Breast, Cured Trout, Homemade Gravlax, Selection of Cheese
My favorite among the starts is the Shrimp Cocktail and the Strawberry Pecan Salad. The ingredients used for all the starters are fresh making the dishes more flavorful. Shrimp Cocktail was love at first sight. The presentation was nicely done. I like the combination of the flavors of the shrimp, tomato, avocado, and lettuce. For the Strawberry Pecan Salad, they mixed up baby spinach, sun dried tomatoes, fresh strawberries, pecan, and goat cheese. The Sun-dried tomatoes have an intense sweet-tart flavor which was enhanced by the ripe fresh strawberries giving you a fragrance which you inhale as you taste the sweet and juicy fruit. The pecans gave a crispy texture and also added a little sweet taste to the salad.
There was quite a selection of Arabic appetizers such as Hummus, Moutabel, Fattoush, Grape Leaves, Labneh Balls, Picked Arabic Vegetables, and Arabic Bread.
The international buffet served mostly American and Indian dishes. They served Steam Rice/ Basmati Rice, Beef Massamam Curry, Butter Chicken, Salmon in Sesame Soy Sauce and Snow Peas, Sautéed Seasonal Veg, Lamb Tangine, Arabic Grilled Meat, Live Pasta Station. The dishes were mostly meat. The beef and lamb were cooked for a long time as it melts in my mouth in every bite. The food was tasty but nothing too special about it.
The choices of desserts were overflowing. I am quite full with all the meat I just ate so I only ate those that I thought I would like. The Chocolate Mud Cake was surprisingly good. It’s moist and rich in chocolate. The Red Velvet cake was sweet and creamy. Honey Cake was good too. Its layers of soft, caramelized honey cakes that taste like the fine marriage of Lotus biscuits, honey graham crackers, and gingerbread cookies, sandwiched between a cloud-like burnt honey and dulce de leche whipped cream. The Vanilla Crème Brulee… a classic and everyone’s favorite. The perfect blend of vanilla bean and custard topped with a burnt sugar crust.
I got lucky with this voucher, it’ worth it for AED 79.00 but I hope there is more to offer if I pay the full amount.
I am rating Counter Culture Café 4/5.
