My friend who has been vegetarian for 2 years suddenly craved for a meaty burger. He called me and asked if there are restaurants in my area that serves good burger, I wasn’t sure so I told him to come and meet me at Al Ghurair and we will have a burger hunt. It was quite late so only few options were open, one of which is Denny’s a 24 hour American diner in Al Rigga.
We browse the menu and they have four beef burger options which for us weren’t enticing. The server suggested we order Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich, a grilled chicken breast topped with melted Swiss cheese, jalapeño slices and spicy habanero served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles. We ordered this but with a brown bread. Its a healthy option for a burger, and being vegetarian for 2 years then suddenly eating meat isn’t a good idea so I guess this was the safest choice.
The sandwich was massive. Just looking at it makes me feel full. The chicken breast was so thick and the Swiss cheese was melting slowly drizzling the chicken breast and the veggies. While slicing the sandwich I was munching on the French fries which was cooked to perfection. It has the right crispiness and saltiness. On my first bite of the sandwich, the chicken breast was indeed thick. It could have taste better if it has more flavors to it. The only flavor I can taste was from the cheese, sauces and the veggies.
Denny’s has a lot of options not just a burger or sandwich. When it was newly opened we had the unlimited pancakes. I think it was for AED 16.00. This is not on the menu so you have to ask the server if they still have it.
