I knew Govinda’s because of Tru Fruit. Tru Fruit changed my life. I had the sitafal and it tastes ike childhood but I cannot remember what. I get to know that sitafal or custard apple is atis in Filipino. We don’t use this as an ice cream flavor, that is why I never expected it to be an ice cream but it was really good.
My friend told me about satvik food which don’t use onion and garlic or any root crops on their food. I think its similar or same as jain food. This is Govinda’s specialty, all their food are satvik. So one day after eating different thalis from different restaurants we finally entered Govinda’s for thier thali and not just the ice cream.
They served us first with a watermelon juice and papad with green chutney, pickle and lime. As always, papad tastes like wonderboy. Watermelon was awesome, I wish could get one more but I think they only serve it once.
The service was fast, once we finished our starters they immediately serve our thali. The starter, vegetables, dal, raita and especially the paneer was all excellent. They served jalebi for the dessert. Its like a Karioka but crispy and thin. It was too sweet for me so I just had a bite to have a taste of it. When you order for seconds, it takes time for them to serve it since Govinda’s is not a thali place like other restaurants I reviewed. They cook it fresh so you have to wait for few minutes. It would be nice to try other food they have. Check their menu here
