Buffet breakfasts in hotels usually have the same food… usual breakfast items like cereals, sausage, eggs, hash brown, an omelet. Les Cuisines is different. Since Les Cuisine is a French restaurant, expect to have French-inspired breakfast on their breakfast menu. In addition to this interesting cuisine is their healthy themed brunch every month. For February they were promoting Coconut which I will give more details later.
You will first be welcomed by a friendly receptionist who will give you healthy shots of detox juices. Apple + cucumber, cranberry + apple, and pineapple + mango. All the juices were freshly made and they refill it immediately for the newcomers to enjoy.
The first section is the home-made honey and the in-house bakeshop focusing on French pastries like Madeleine, Croissant, Palmier, Canelé, Choquette. My favorite among all of these is the Canelé. The original recipe has rum and vanilla. Since we are in Dubai, I am sure they improvised and substituted the rum with another ingredient. It has a thick caramelized toasted crust with a soft and tender custard center.
Next station is high in carbohydrates breakfast items like pancake, waffle, crepe, French Toast which are all made fresh. Among the usual breakfast dishes, what I liked the most was the French Toast. Ironically, French Toast or pain perdu is very rarely eaten as breakfast in France. It is usually eaten as a snack. Les Cuisine’s French Toast is simple… the usual milk, egg, and sugar. It is then topped with powder sugar and honey. It is crusty and not oily which is what I like about it. It is then followed by international breakfast dishes from India, China and UK.
A new sight for me was the pork section. I seldom see the pork section for breakfast in Dubai. I got excited and took a piece of every pork dish they offer. Bacon is the star of the pork section. They showcased different cured pork meats which were all too salty for me.
Coconut is a very versatile fruit, which can be used from food to cosmetics. Les Cuisines featured coconut in their different flavors of dairy-free coconut yogurt. My favorite is the mango coconut yogurt, using coconut milk to make yogurt is very challenging that’s why I was amazed by the tons of flavor they were able to make out of it. The Mango Coconut Yogurt is creamy, tangy and naturally sweetened.
The brunch is definitely worth it! For only AED 99.00, you will get to enjoy a French breakfast. I am rating Les Cuisine 4.5/5.
