Craving for good quality Asian food, we were driving around from Oud Metha to Garhoud then DFC. We stopped in front of Irish Village to check and we got a lot of options but what we were curious with was Mama Fu’s. We drove straight to DFC, after watching the fountain and light show we looked for Mama Fu’s which is just near the fountain. They serve Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese.
For starters our server recommended Tom Yum Soup as its good for sharing. I would say that this is definitely worth it, a big bowl of Tom Yum with all the fresh and crunchy veggies for only AED 30.00 and I was lucky to get the bowl with more soup in it. My friend jokingly told our server that I am her favorite for giving me the bowl with more soup. 🙂
We were supposed to order Pad Thai and Spicy General Fu Chicken but we cancelled the Pad Thai and ordered Thai Fire Red Curry instead. I saw Sichuan Kung Pao and showed it to my food buddy. I told him that he might like it as its a mixed of spicy and sweet. Their rice entrees for chicken are all AED 45.00 good for 1 person.
We only got the Spicy General Fu’s when we finished the Tom Yum. I called our server and asked if we have pending order, she said none. We were relieved because we can order another meal instead of the Thai Fire Red Curry (we just had Thai the day before this). We ordered the Sichuan Kung Pao Chicken. The Spicy General Fu is combination of sweet, lemony, and chili. It tastes like sweet and sour but with a little spiciness to it. The veggies are fresh and crunchy which adds color to the dish.
With all the confusion we caused her it was a blessing in disguise she was not able to take our order of Thai Curry. The Sichuan Kung Pao is awesome. It has the combination of sweet and savoury and lots of spicy. Its spicy but not in a burning kind of way. When you chew it, you will feel the freshness of the veggies and the crunchiness of the peanuts.
If you are in DFC, Mama Fu’s is an experience you will never forget.
