I have posted two reviews on Raju Omlet Karama, while that joint is small and packed the wait is worth coming back because of the food. The size also matches with the cuteness of the interior with all the Eggsecutive Committee- eggshells with funny faces and framed pictures of factual and silly quotes about eggs. Due to a very high demand Raju Omlet opened another branch in Al Qouz. Bigger and has more food options. Most of the instagramable restaurants have photogenic food but not that palatable. Raju Omlet Al Qouz is an exception. Its located between expensive car showrooms, you can check for the exact location map.
If you come on a weekday, you will be in for a treat as this place is fully packed on weekends. Its busy and noisy as no table gets empty in 5 minutes. Its a first come first serve basis so better be there early on a weekend. Besides that, weekday visits will give you better view of the restaurant.
I like how they designed the restaurant as they used old pictures and memorabilia of old India. They even use a cage for baby chicks as a light cover fixture.
While I was busy taking pictures my friend took the liberty to order. He ordered Egg Bhurji Roll and Mumbai Omlet, both are from every Indian’s childhood memories.
This is a paratha roll with egg bhurji inside. What I like about this is it is easy to eat, very practical for a kid running late for school, Indian moms must have been awake so early to prepare such a delicious brekky.
Mumbai Omlet reminds me of our own pandesal with scrambled egg and UFC banana ketchup. For Mumbai Omlet, the egg has more taste to it as they put onion, green chili, garlic and ginger. The sauce used has a tamarind sweetness and sourness to it. Thumbs up for this one as well.
We were still hungry so we ordered another dish, Egg Lazeez. Its described as it will have you coming back for more. They are right. Egg + tomato gravy + cheddar cheese = unexplained satisfaction. Two pavs is not enough, we ordered 2 more. You will clean your plate with a pav to not waste a drop of this golden mine.
If not for the traffic I will surely be back here and try their sizzling dishes since those are not offered in their Karama branch.
